Regional Dues will be added All members of the NYS Veterinary Medical Society join one of our regional groups or chapters. This allows you to network, receive information about meetings and events, and take advantage of educational opportunities in your local area. Depending on the regional fees regional groups provide free CE programs to their members, and some even include dinner. Please review your region from the list provided here before beginning the signup process. If you live and work in different regions, feel free to choose the one that best fills your professional needs. Once you have chosen, click Join As under your member type. If you graduated this year, you can join free!

Active Member
You are considered an "Active" member if you are a graduate of a veterinary college and work/practice in New York state as a licensed veterinarian, or if you are employed full-time as a teacher in a veterinary college program.
Recent graduates of veterinary school receive a dues discount for the first 3 calendar years following graduation: 75% off in the first year; 50% off in the second year; and 25% off in the third year.
Membership for 2023 is $315 before discounts - PLUS the dues for your regional group.
Should you join after October 1, your annual NYSVMS dues payment will include the rest of the current year in addition to the following calendar year. For all regional chapters except the Long Island and Westchester/Rockland VMAs, you will be able to attend regional programs in the current year, as soon as your chapter dues are paid. For Long Island and Westchester/Rockland members, your regional benefits will begin on January 1 of the next calendar year.
Hospital
We are also welcome to join as a hospital. We will work with you to create one invoice for all employees - AND to extend free continuing education to your licensed technicians.
