This webinar aims to instruct participants on recognizing seizures and differentiating them from other neurological and non-neurological conditions that are often misdiagnosed as seizures. The program will provide a conceptual framework for critically evaluating treatments for seizures and their look-alikes.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify generalized seizures based on owner provided history or video review
2. Understand the clinical differences between generalized seizures and other conditions commonly confused with seizures
3. Understand the various treatment strategies for seizures and their look-alikes.
For More Information:
Dr. Fefer received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell University while also completing a business and music minor. He remained in Ithaca for another four years where he completed his veterinary medicine degree at Cornell. Dr. Fefer returned home to New York City to complete his small animal rotating internship at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. After completing a year of research on the physiology of aging dogs with Dr. Natasha Olby at North Carolina State University, he stayed in Raleigh to complete his residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery. Dr. Fefer is excited to return to the tri-state region after a 4-year stay in the south.
When not in the hospital, Dr. Fefer enjoys playing in medical orchestras and expanding his new-found passion for woodworking.
