Dr. Stephanie Janeczko, DVM, MS, DABVP (Shelter Medicine Practice; Canine & Feline Practice), CAWA
Vice President, Shelter Medicine Services, ASPCA
Dr. Stephanie Janeczko is a leading figure in shelter medicine, currently serving as the Vice President of Shelter Medicine Services at the ASPCA. She oversees the organization's national shelter medicine initiatives and co-leads efforts to expand access to veterinary care. An alumna of Cornell University, she earned her DVM in 2004, followed by a residency in shelter medicine and a master's in epidemiology in 2009. Board-certified in both Shelter Medicine Practice and Canine & Feline Practice, Dr. Janeczko is also a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator. Her extensive experience includes leadership roles in various veterinary organizations, and she has been recognized with the Meritorious Service Award by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. She Chairs the NYSVMS Animal Welfare Committee and serves on the Executive Board of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society.
Dr. Elizabeth Berliner, DVM, MA, DABVP (Shelter Medicine Practice; Canine & Feline Practice)
Senior Director, Shelter Medicine Training Programs, ASPCA
Dr. Elizabeth Berliner is the Senior Director of Shelter Medicine Training Programs at the ASPCA, where she leads initiatives such as the Julie Morris Shelter Medicine Residency and the Practitioner Pathway Mentorship Program, supporting veterinarians pursuing board certification in Shelter Medicine Practice. Board-certified in both Shelter Medicine Practice and Canine & Feline Practice, Dr. Berliner earned her DVM from Cornell University in 2003. She previously served as the Janet L. Swanson Director of Shelter Medicine at Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine, where she directed clinical programs and trained veterinary students and interns in shelter medicine. Dr. Berliner is a co-author of the revised ASV Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters and serves on the Executive Board of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society.
