Integrative Medicine Webinar: Introduction to Homeopathy
Event Details
Presented by: Lisa Melling, DVM, CVH, CVSMT
Homeopathy is a system of medicine that uses micro-doses of natural substances to stimulate a healing response in the body based on the Law of Similars. The homeopathic prescriber uses single remedies that match the patient’s unique disease presentation with the intention of removing the underlying cause of illness and restoring health. Homeopathy is effective in treating injuries and acute illnesses, and is especially useful in epidemics and the treatment of chronic diseases. Veterinarians can expand their treatment options by using homeopathic remedies, as this approach to healing addresses the physical as well as the mental and emotional aspects of a patient.
Learning Objectives:
1. Introduce the healing art of homeopathy for animals
2. Provide basic instruction in the use of homeopathic remedies for acute injury and illness, and chronic disease
3. Demonstrate how homeopathy can be integrated into a veterinary practice through the use of remedies for acute injury and infectious disease
