Erika Gibson, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) Board Certified in Veterinary Neurology, graduated cum laude from Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Michigan State University.
She postponed entering a residency program in order to gain work experience; for three years she worked at a thriving general and referral practice alongside two veterinary neurologists. In 2005, she began her residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania, which she completed in 2008, passing her board certification in 2009. Dr. Gibson then traveled to Newmarket, England, working as a veterinary neurologist/neurosurgeon at the Animal Health Trust.
She returned to the Northeast in 2010, serving patients in large specialty practices with high standards of excellence. She came on board at Guardian Veterinary Specialists in 2018, the second skilled neurologist/neurosurgeon to join the team.
